Aston Villa are currently having a good spell under Unai Emery. They are very close to play Champions League next season. The Villans are currently on 4th position in the Premier League. The one player who has caught eyes of many this season is their forward Ollie Watkins. The 28 year old striker has been very consistent in scoring. Watkins has been the main man for Villa and is leading them from front. Watkins was also called up for England national team and it seems as he will be the part if national team for Euros too. Tony Cascarino thinks the Villa striker has been the best player in Premier League this season. If you look at the stats of 28 year old strike you may agree with what Cascarino said.

Villa striker Watkins is top contender for Player of the Season

Watkins has been preferred over Manchester City’s star Phil Foden by Tony Cascarino. When talking to talkSPORT, Cascarino said Watkins has been better than Foden this season. Former Chelsea player thinks Watkins deserves to win the Player of the Season award. Its not only because the stats of Watkins, but because the way Aston Villa played too. Man City are always the favourites to win the league and be in the top 4. Its not the same with Villa, but they way Villans played this season is praiseworthy.

Ollie Watkins have been very consistent in scoring. He has 19 goals in Premier League and is on 4th spot currently for the Golden Boot race. He is also top assist provider in the league with 12 assists. The Villa striker has scored overall 27 goals this season across all competitions. Out of all those goals none have came from penalty. This contribution of Watkins to Villa side has been appreciated by both club and fans. This form and performance throughout the season makes him a deserving candidate for Euros this summer.
