AJAX

Ajax FC, also known as AFC Ajax, is one of the most successful football clubs in the Netherlands. Meanwhile, it has a rich history dating back to the early 1900s. History

Ajax was founded in 1900 by a group of workers from Amsterdam. The club began to make its mark on Dutch football in the 1930s, winning its first national championship in 1947. Ajax’s golden era came in the 1970s when they won three consecutive European Cups under the leadership of manager Rinus Michels and a team of talented players known as the “Total Football” team. In recent years, Ajax has continued to be successful domestically and in Europe, winning four consecutive Eredivisie titles from 2011-2014 and reaching the UEFA Europa League final in 2017.

Ajax has won numerous trophies throughout its history. This includes 35 Eredivisie titles, 20 KNVB Cups, and four European Cups/UEFA Champions League titles. The club has also won the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup twice, the UEFA Super Cup once, and the Intercontinental Cup three times.

Rivalries

Ajax’s main rival is Feyenoord, a club from Rotterdam. The rivalry between the two clubs dates back to the 1920s and is known as the “De Klassieker” (The Classic). Matches between Ajax and Feyenoord are some of the most intense and fiercely contested in Dutch football. Ajax also has a rivalry with PSV Eindhoven, another top Dutch club.

Ajax is one of the wealthiest football clubs in the Netherlands, with an estimated annual revenue of €200 million. The club generates income through various sources, including ticket sales, merchandising, and broadcasting rights.
