Christopher Nkunku ready to pair with Cole Palmer

Chelsea have had a pretty rough season. The Blues are going to miss the Champions league yet again. Mauricio Pochettino is also been under a lot of pressure and his future as Chelsea boss seems uncertain. Pochettino was also unlucky in some sorts as many players were injured throughout the season. Christopher Nkunku who was one of them is finally back. Chelsea fans could really welcome a new attacking pair between Nkunku and Cole Palmer. The remaining fixtures of Premier League are very important for Chelsea, and the blues will hope the french international breathes life into the game if he starts.

Chelsea signed Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig last year. The Blues paid £52 million for the french striker. Ever since his arrival to Stamford bridge, Nkunku has been unlucky due to injuries. The French international suffered consistent injuries of hip, hamstring and knee which kept him sidelined for most of the season. He finally made his return in clash against West Ham where Chelsea went on to win 5-0. Nkunku came on as a substitute for Mykhailo Mudryk.

Mykhailo Mudryk has been preferred by Pochettino besides Palmer. However Mudryk has not been on his best level and has been referred as weak link by GOAL reporter Mark Doyle. Nkunku can replace Mudryk and is believed to achieve results Pochettino is expecting.

How well can Palmer and Nkunku pair

Christopher Nkunku before arriving to London had a very good spell with RB Leipzig. He has not only scored 70 goals but has also provided 56 assists in 172 appearances for the German side. He has been very good infront of the goal and is expected to gain his form back soon. On the other hand Palmer is having the best season of his life. The 22 year old midfielder is often considered as a wizard of passing. Palmer’s passing skills including crossing can be justified by Nkunku. The duo can work really well and find the back of the net on regular basis. Chelsea can finally find the consistency they have been missing if the plan works.
