Manchester United forward Anthony talks about criticism

Manchester United

Manchester United have not had a season they expected from Anthony. The brazilian youngster came to United from Ajax last season. He had very good two seasons with Ajax which made United pay £81 million to sign him. Both board and fans thought he would continue his good form under his former manager Erik Ten Hag. Unfortunately he has failed to achieve success in United’s shirt. He has only managed to score 1 goal in Premier League this season despite playing 27 matches. This has caused a lot of disappointed in fans resulting in criticism.

Critics doesn’t seem to put pressure on United forward Anthony

Anthony only managed to score 3 goals in all competitions this season. Due to the extremely poor performance he has been criticised both on and off the field. Anthony however doesn’t seems to be fazed by all of these. Many believe that Anthony is not worth the transfer fee United paid to Ajax. Brazilian winger however doesn’t seem to talk much about transfer fee and says that he knows his worth. He also talked about critics and told them they only motivate him according to United In Focus. Anthony only wants to work harder to silence the criticism he has been receiving. The mentality of player is positive and filled with self belief. United will hope that he proves himself and helps the club.

Anthony also talked about FA Cup final and told his teammates to focus on final. Last season United failed to win the FA Cup final against Manchester City. This year the Red Devils will be hoping for a revenge and bring the silverware to Old Trafford. Manchester City are far better team on paper as compared to Manchester United. But the Manchester Derby is always special and unpredictable. The predictions maybe on Blue’s side but Anthony believes they can achieve it if they improve themselves. With five games remaining of the campaign, United look forward to win all those and get better for next season.
