Jurgen Klopp could have Jude Bellingham at Liverpool next year

Liverpool continues to be the frontrunners to make a swoop for Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in the next transfer window.

Jude Bellingham is known to be a long-time admirer of the club and has been strongly linked with a move. In fact, Liverpool had a bid in place for the player only to be rejected by the Bundesliga outfit this summer.

The German club saw Erling Haaland, their main man up front in attack leave for Premier League winners Manchester City. Dortmund did not want to see another one of their stars leave in the same summer transfer window.

Liverpool could sign Bellingham next year

Liverpool have dealt with issues in the midfield in the early phases of this new season and needs bolstering. However, the Merseyside-based club will need to wait a year in order sign Bellingham to bolster the midfield.

Jordan Henderson is entering the final phase of his career and it is natural that Liverpool signs a new player. Moreover, Klopp knows the interest Bellingham has in joining the Reds at some point in his career.

It will be a no-brainer if the player does end up donning the Liverpool jersey next year. Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl expressed his delight that Bellingham is still part of the squad.

He said-

“Jude is very happy at the club, he is very committed to us,”

“Hopefully he can stay over next season and for a long time.

“Then we come back to the beginning of the interview, we try to keep our best players, Jude is one of those and we try to keep them for as long as possible. But we will see what will happen but not at the moment.

“We would like to change the policy but we are in the market. We would like to keep our best players longer than the last few years – it’s impossible (to keep them sometimes).

It remains to be seen if Liverpool continues to show interest in the midfielder next season and sign him.
