About Football Express UK

Manchester United have successfully reached agreement to sign Dan Ashworth from Newcastle United. The sporting director at Newcastle is highly esteemed for all of his accomplishments. The Reds have announced the news of signing him on Monday. After departing from Newcastle United, he found a new team to sign with just a few months later. Following his resignation in February, the black and white team placed him on gardening leave.

Dan Ashworth’s move to Manchester United could happen after British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe acquired 25% stake in February. Ratcliffe took control of all the football operations of the club.

“Newcastle United and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the immediate release of Dan Ashworth from his contractual obligations at Newcastle United”

The two clubs said in a statement.

Ratcliffe’s plans with Manchester United

Jim Ratcliffe is dedicated to completely revamping Manchester United. The club has faced significant criticism over the last decade for issues such as scouting, infrastructure, financial management, and transfers. Ratcliffe firmly believes that addressing the grassroots aspects of the club is essential to bringing about change. There has been recent observation that the club’s home stadium, Old Trafford, is in deplorable condition His first and foremost priority is to renovate the stadium as the ticket sales for the games generate the highest amount of money. He revealed his plans to regenerate Old Trafford by creating a stadium which can even rival the Wembley stadium.

In the past decade, Manchester United has been labeled more as a commercial powerhouse than a football club. A series of high-profile signings have fallen short of expectations, reinforcing this perception. Ratcliffe believes that to get good players without spending much money, they need to hire a better talent scouting body. With INEOS, he was able to hire Omar Berrada as a CEO and Dan Ashworth as the Sporting Director of Manchester United football club. These two signings are just the beginning of Ratcliffe trying his best to improve the club.

How is Ratcliffe improving Manchester United as a club

After a lot of conversations and negotiations, Ratcliffe has also decided to keep the manager, Erik Ten Hag, at the club. He has even planned on extending his contract. Ten Hag is only manager after Sir Alex Ferguson, who has won back-to-back trophies. In his two years tenure, he has been in 3 finals where he won two of them. There are high hopes on him and Ratcliffe believes the manager needs the perfect help in order to build the team and win the league. To help their young striker improve his goalscoring ability, they have also hired one of Manchester United’s legends Ruud van Nisterooy.

It is a long process, but the fans have put their full faith in Jim Ratcliffe and the new board. They believe that this man can actually revolutionize the club.
