Manchester United are set to permanently sell their winger Mason Greenwood.
They have added the name of the winger to their transfer list. The 22-year-old will not make an appearance for Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United. In January 2022, his girlfriend made serious allegations against him, leading to his removal from the team. Despite the charges being dropped, the Red Devils are not willing to allow him to remain at the club. One of the main reasons is that the Manchester United women’s team do not feel safe when he is at the club’s premises. In the previous season, Manchester United put his name on the loan sheet. Spanish club Getafe signed him on a season-long loan. Even after not playing for an entire year, Mason Greenwood performed brilliantly. In 34 games for Getafe, he contributed to 14 goals and earned numerous Man of the Match awards. With Getafe, he finished in the 12th position of the league which is a slight improvement from the season before where they finished 15th.
As per reports, French club Marseille are eager to sign the winger from Manchester United. The former Brighton manager, Roberto De Zerbi, has been appointed as the new manager of Marseille. He is very keen to sign the English winger from Manchester United. After Greenwood faced allegations from his girlfriend, many clubs did not approach United for him. However, De Zerbi is eager to have him in his team. Marseille fans aren’t happy that much with the club trying to buy Greenwood. The manager was asked about this very recently.

Reports indicate that United would sell him for £26.7m plus include almost a 50% sell-on clause. This looks like a very good deal considering how the situation surrounding Mason Greenwood is.
