What success does Chelsea hold for Lucy?
Chelsea is one of the most prosperous clubs in English Women’s Football. They are the defending champions of Women’s Super League and have won it on six more occasions.
In England, the Blues also succeeded by winning five Women’s FA Cup, two FA Women’s League Cup and triumphed in Women’s FA Community Shield, 2020. Lucy Bronze before joining Chelsea, on the other side has won a total of five Champions League titles, three with Lyon and two with Barcelona; three Women’s Super League titles, with Liverpool and Manchester City, and the Euro 2022 with England.
Lucy Bronze, a phenomenal full-back in action
The former Culer is a tactical versatile right-back who is ordinarily used as an inverted full-back. She is often compared with players, during the regime of Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich, particularly Philipp Lahm.
Bronze demonstrates excellent skill in the full-back role, with stamina and speed down the wing, and the ability to play crosses into the box as well as make overlapping runs with her forward winger. Her speed and reading of the game allow her to force opposition wingers into weaker positions through her body positioning.
Contributing as much to her team’s attack as its defense, she often moves into the position of the right winger during the course of play or makes underlapping runs into interior space, allowing her to receive the ball from wingers pinned wide by opposition defenders. Therefore, the new Chelsea star Bronze will definitely be of great use and help for the team’s future success.
