Eddie Howe to hold talks with Newcastle star over training ground incident

Newcastle United Stadium

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe will hold talks with Allan Saint-Maximin over an issue in the club’s training ground facility.

The French winger was told to hit new levels during the holidays by the Newcastle gaffer this summer. However, upon his arrival, the striker has been ordered to more physical effort and more intensity in the training sessions.

Saint-Maximin also faced a crackdown on his parking habits from the Magpies’ boss. Howe laid down the law to the striker after finding out that he keeps his Ferrari right outside the front door to the training ground.

Howe to speak with Newcastle star

Speaking on an interview, the Newcastle manager clarified that he will hold talks with the French striker. He said-

“That’s something that we will be addressing with him.”

However, the striker has been in sensational form but still needs to up his game to compete at a high-level. Howe heaped praise on Saint-Maximin in the interview regarding his skills on the pitch and what he is capable of.

He said-

“He’s devastating when he’s one v one,”

“I wouldn’t say there’s a better player one v one from an attacking perspective than Maxi in world football. So, we need to get the ball in better areas.

But I think the expectation of Maxi is that he’s got to be able to deliver the physical effort that I want the team to deliver. So, there’s been a lot of individual work towards that.

And yeah, I’m expecting a great season from him.”

“Well, we’ve worked really hard with Maxi during pre-season. He’s in a really good place, I think. He looks happy. He’s trained well.

Surely the striker would be flattered listening to the soothing statements made by his Newcastle boss on his skills. However, he will need to work on his parking skills off the pitch as well.
