Borussia Dortmund star is a target for Liverpool next season

Manchester City Transfer

Liverpool seem favourites to secure the services of Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham in the summer of 2023 transfer window.

The England international has been linked to a move to Anfield on numerous occasions in the past few months. Moreover, the midfielder is a huge admirer of the club and has shown his affection on social media at times.

That said, if a move is to happen, the real possibility will be in the next year’s transfer window. It is so because the German club outfit recently lost their main striker Erling Haaland to Manchester City.

Losing another big star in the same transfer window would give them a huge blow for the rest of the season.

Liverpool have made first contact with Bellingham

It is no secret that Liverpool gaffer Jurgen Klopp wants the services of the youngster in his squad. Moreover, according to SkySports pundit, Kevin Campbell, the Reds have had a conversation with the player to understand his environment.

He said-

“I think Dortmund tend to sell one big player a year – and obviously this year it was Haaland. Jude Bellingham will be a better player for having been out in Germany for another year.

“Klopp likes him a lot, that’s obvious. If he comes on the market next summer, I’m sure Liverpool will be at the front of the queue to sign him.

They’ve inquired, I’m sure, and Klopp has had the inside scoop from Dortmund – unfortunately he’s not available.”

Even transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that there has been contact between the two parties for the midfielder this summer. However, Dortmund have cleared it to Liverpool that Bellingham is ‘untouchable’ this season and will remain with the German club.

However, things could be different next year and many clubs would join the race to sign him as per Romano. That said, Liverpool would still be the favourites to sign the midfielder next year but only time will tell.
