Harry Redknapp slams Chelsea star despite his crucial goal against Newcastle United.

Mykhailo

Former West Ham United manager Harry Redknapp has slammed Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk. Although the Ukraine international scored a goal that very much decided the match later, he wasn’t able to impress Redknapp. Chelsea played against New Castle in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday. Mykhailo Mudryk scored the equaliser for the blues in the injury time that led the match towards the penalty shootout. Moreover, Djordje Petrovic displayed an exceptional performance by saving a spot kick that led Chelsea to the semi finals. The best part is, all of this wouldn’t have been possible if Mudryk hadn’t scored that goal. However, that’s still not enough to have an impact on Harry Redknapp’s view on him.

As per hitc, Harry Redknapp was full of criticism for the 22 year old Chelsea winger. He believes that Mudryk doesn’t know the game and he needs a lot of improvement. Moreover, he thinks that Mudryk scored the goal because of Kieran Trippier’s mistake and he was also out of his position.

“Chelsea got back to level in the injury time because their left winger was out of his position. He was on a wide angle from the post whereas he should’ve been close to the back of the net. He should’ve challenged Kieran Trippier in that area. You see, Mudryk’s positional understanding needs to be worked upon. Moreover, he could score the goal because it was Trippier’s mistake.” – Harry Redknapp said.

Harry Redknapp should’ve complimented Mudryk instead of criticising him.

As the things stand at the present moment, Chelsea are not qualified for any European tournament for the next season. Furthermore, the blues are at the 10th position in the league. In addition to that, They’re not in any tournament’s knockout stage. And during this time, if they’ve reached the semi finals of league cup, they should get some appreciation. Moreover, Mudryk was the one who equalised for Chelsea in the dying moments of the regular time. He deserves much more appreciation than the team, especially after a disappointing spell that he’s having this season. Redknapp should acknowledge the 22 year old’s efforts.
