Varane wants to join Manchester United after returning from holiday

About Football Express UK

According to the report in Spanish outlet AS, Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane does not want to go back to the Spanish capital for pre-season training and wants to land straightaway at Manchester United and start his training with his new club.

Varane has been a tremendous defender for Los Blancos over the last decade. During this time, he has achieved every single glory at the club level. After triumphing everything with the La Liga giants, the 28-year-old wants to take a new challenge in his career and is willing to play in the Premier League

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has asked for new signings in this summer transfer window. The club has already finalized the Jadon Sancho deal which is only waiting for an official announcement from the club. After Sancho, United have shifted their focus towards the Varane deal and it is looking very close.

The 28-year-old can create a very good partnership with Harry Maguire at the heart of Solskjaer’s side defence. This will make one of the best defences in the world. The Red Devils should go for a defensive midfielder after securing the Frenchman.

Manchester United closing in on a deal for Raphael Varane:

As per the report in AS, Varane has already told Real Madrid about his desire to leave the club and try a new chapter in the Premier League with Manchester United. Both clubs are currently negotiating about the potential transfer fee.

The report further claims that the 28-year-old doesn’t want to return to Madrid for pre-season training and then go to Manchester and start another pre-season camp. So, he wants to start his training straightaway at Manchester with his new teammates.

The report also stated that the Frenchman is in a rush to get this deal over the line. But neither clubs are willing to rush things at the moment. The Red Devils are looking to offer around €50 million for the defender but Los Blancos are asking for a fee of around €60 million.

Nevertheless, Manchester United should wrap this deal as soon as possible and bring Varane to the pre-season training to gel with the new teammates and in a new environment. Alongside Harry Maguire, he could create a formidable defensive wall at the back for Manchester United.
