Manchester City preparing a staggering financial package to sign Haaland

About Football Express UK

Manchester City are reportedly plotting a whopping £246 million financial package to sign Borussia Dortmund ace Erling Braut Haaland as per the report from Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

The 21-year-old is reportedly set to leave Signal Iduna Park this summer as the forward’s release clause can be triggered at the end of this season. Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and PSG are all credited with an interest to sign one of the hottest prospects in world football.

According to Di Marzio, Manchester City have already presented an eye-catching salary package of £25 million per year to Haaland for the next few years. Total of £125 million in the youngster’s wage. Plus they will have to pay the release clause of €75 million(£63 million).

The report further claims that the 21-year-old’s super-agent Mino Riola will get a huge chunk due to the involvement in this negotiation. And the numbers are reportedly a whopping £58 million.

Will Manchester City be able to sign Haaland this summer?

Despite having to play with a false nine over the last few seasons. Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola understands the need for a specialist number nine. And therefore, the Citizens’ hierarchy did everything possible to sign Harry Kane last summer.

Meanwhile, with Haaland being available this summer. Manchester City have now shifted their attention from the Englishman to the Norwegian sensation.

However, given the financial numbers reported by Di Marzio to sign the 21-year-old. It will not be possible to sign the youngster by the majority of the football clubs. So, Manchester City and PSG are the only realistic options for the Dortmund ace.

Therefore, Manchester City is the likeliest destination for Haaland. Guardiola wanted to sign a centre-forward. And signing the 21-year-old will be a great acquisition for the reigning Premier League champions.
