Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt is on the verge of an exit as Bayern Munich and Chelsea lock horns for the defender.
Matthijs de Ligt has been an integral part of the Juventus squad earning a regular spot in every match. Making a switch in 2019, de Ligt joined Juventus to win major titles and establish himself as a vital player.
However, things have gone haywire for the club especially not having won the Italian league for two years now. Losses to rivals Inter Milan and AC Milan in the title race have taken the wind out of his sails.
A big move for the Juventus defender this summer?
Yes, an exit from the club appears to be on the horizon for de Ligt with two big clubs reportedly interested. De Ligt has previously rejected the idea of signing a contract renewal with the Serie A outfit and wants to move.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is obsessed with the idea of bringing de Ligt to the Bridge this summer.
However, Bayern are rivaling the English club and pushing to facilitate a move for the Juve defender. De Ligt’s father, Frank de Ligt hinted at the player’s possible move this summer.
He took to Twitter to drop the hint on de Ligt’s exit by sending a rather subtle message. The player’s father has begun following the official Twitter handle of Bayern Munich!
If this is a hint regarding the future of de Ligt, Chelsea’s boss and fans would be left unhappy. However, there’s no agreement yet between clubs and ‘hints’ such as that must be taken with a pinch of salt.
What seems certain is that de Ligt will leave Juventus this summer but where is he headed?
Only time will tell the defender’s next move or actually transfer expert Fabrizio Romano will break it soon!
