Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has expressed his view on the club’s transfer market scenario.

Villa manager Steven Gerrard has been up and running in the transfer market making vital signings this summer. The signings of Philippe Coutinho, Robin Olsen, Boubacar Kamara, and Diego Carlos from Sevilla has brought them to a competitive level.

Moreover, the gaffer is still not done yet and could make a few more signings before the transfer window concludes. However, with the present signings officially announced, one Villa player could lose out his spot as a regular.

Villa Striker makes transfer market admission

Gabriel Agbonlahor, former Villa ace has opened up regarding the signings and what it could mean for Kortney Hause. In an interview with Football Insider, the ex-Villa striker admitted that Hause could make an exit this summer.

He said-

“I do like Hause. Whenever he’s come in for Aston Villa he’s done well, he’s not looked phased, he’s not looked out of place, he’s looked very strong, he’s got the pace and he’s good in the air.

“It’s going to be very difficult. You’ve got Carlos and Mings who, for me, will be the first choice as one left-footer and one right-footer for Steven Gerrard. Then you’ve got Konsa who is going to be coming back from an injury as well and Chambers as well.

“There are players ahead of him. It might be something that Steven Gerrard looks at as, do you let Kortney Hause go on loan and play some football?

“Or, does he stay and wait just in case there are injuries and suspensions and he can get his chance. It’s going to be difficult for him to get in that starting line-up.”

Hause made only nine appearances for Villa last season and has come down the pecking order under Gerrard. The player has been touted with a move to Watford this summer and an exit could be a real possibility.
