Reports that Folarin Balogun is set to travel to Monaco on Tuesday to undergo a medical and complete his permanent transfer to the club.”

According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal is worth €40m in total.

Arsenal also have a sell-on clause in the deal.

The percentage of the sell-on clause is not clear at this moment.

Folarin Balogun will sign a five-year deal with Monaco according to the RMC sports.

Either way, the medical and contract signing will bring to an end

A summer of speculation over Balogun’s future.

As well as Monaco, there were strong links to Inter Milan and almost every club in London.

Clubs who were intrested in signing Folarin Balogun

West Ham United was the first premier league club who approched Arsenal to sign Balogun.

Crystal palace also made some enquiries to sign him.

Fulham were also intrested in signing him

They saw him as the replacement of Aleksandr Mitrovic.

But most notably, two premier league giants Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur were intrested.

Both the clubs made approaches to Arsenal to try

They tried their best to establish the viability of a transfer.

But the talks ended because of the price tag.

In the end, Balogun is set to return to Ligue 1 with Monaco, in a deal that should suit Arsenal quite nicely.

Arsenal did a great deal.

Selling their academy player at price of €45m with a sell-on clause to potentially bring more in later.

To get that kind of money from a Ligue 1 club not named PSG is also not an easy task.

Balogun scored 22 goals on loan with Stade de Reims last season, making 39 appearances in all competitions.

Monaco would be haapy to sign a youngster who has already proved himself in the Ligue 1.
