According to reports, Arsenal Football Club and Monaco are close to completing a historic transfer agreement for Folarin Balogun. The Telegraph claims that the two clubs are close to finalising a deal that would allow Balogun to leave Arsenal for about £39 million. However prior to finalising a five-year contract, the USMNT international has to undergo required medical tests this week.

Balogun’s rising reputation in European football is further highlighted by Monaco’s interest in him. The fact that the French club was willing to spend such a high sum for him shows that they have faith in his skills and the potential advantage he could provide for their team. The official announcement of this astounding agreement will be eagerly anticipated by supporters as discussions between Arsenal and Monaco near completion.

Arsenal offloads the phenomenal striker to Ligue 1 again

Chelsea, Tottenham and West Ham expressed their interest previously. But Chelsea have withdrawn the race because of Arsenal’s asking price. Even Inter Milan apparently wanted him as a Romelu Lukaku substitute. However, it now seems like Monaco has triumphed in the race to recruit him. Balogun now appears certain to join a Monaco frontline. Monaco’s firepower also includes Gelson Martins, Takumi Minamino, Myron Boadu, and Wissam Ben Yedder.

Balogun has a deal with Arsenal through 2025. However with players like Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah competing for spots in north London, it was inevitable that he would leave during the current transfer window. Balogun made a right choice in order to get game time ahead of his bright future. Thus, he will be heading to same place where he displayed his potential on loan i.e. Ligue 1.
