Chelsea wants to buy 21-yeaar old German midfielder Cole Palmer

Chelsea

Chelsea recently came in contact with Manchester city to the 21-year old German Midfielder Cole Palmer valued €40m.

Journalist Patrick Berger comes up to twitter with the update that Borussia Dortmund is also interested in German midfielder.

Both the clubs are ready to battle for the player.

According to the reporter, Chelsea are ‘now pushing’ to get Palmer signed from Manchester City.

Manchester city rejected an initial bid for the player, the bid was around €40m.

Chelsea may not have matched that yet, bu they can.

Move was apparently enough to scare Borussia Dortmund out of the competition, they are not ready to pay that much.

Patrick Berger writes that the Bundesliga side had targeted Palmer for a ‘long time’, but with the Blues now involved in the race, the German club have ‘no chances anymore’.

Palmer wants to play regular football and Guardiola is unable to provide assurances of minutes to the highly-rated attacker despite the departure of Riyah Mahrez.

Now it looks as though Chelsea are prepared to up the pressure on City and test their stance over a sale.

Guardiola recently said after his player netted in the Super Cup triumph over Sevilla in Greece: “The opinion I had when he arrived is he wanted to leave, but now I don’t know what’s going to happen.

“I don’t think a loan is going to happen. He’s going to stay or going to sell, but I think a loan is not going to happen.”

The Spaniard later added: “I understand he wants to be more active than the previous season.

“But Riyad [Mahrez] has gone so we have one more place there. I cannot say anything because, of course, all the decisions need to be made by the club. The club has to decide what the best is. All together, we will do it.”

Now it remains to be seen whether Chelsea will place a convincing offer on the table. Palmer has a contract with Manchester City until 2026.

Despite the three appearances he had for the club this season, he only has ten minutes played in the Premier League.
