Burnley vs Wolverhampton Wanderers: Preview and Predicted Line-up

About Football Express UK

Burnley will entertain Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon in a crucial Premier League encounter at Turf Moor.

The Clarets have revived their hopes to remain in the Premier League beyond this season, following productive results in the last couple of games. After snatching one point from West Ham United last weekend, they have now won their midweek fixture against Southampton by 2-0.

Having earned four points from the last two games, Burnley have closed the gap to safety. They are currently sitting on 18th place in the table with 28 points in 32 games, only one point behind the safety as Everton are currently just above them with one game in hand.

On the other hand, Wolverhampton were fighting for the top-four finish. But, they have lost their way a bit and are currently eighth in the league with 49 points in 32 games. They have displayed the fourth-best defensive performance in the league this season, conceding 28 goals just behind Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Bruno Lage’s side are coming into this game off the back of a disappointing defeat against Newcastle United. They lost the game 1-0 courtesy of the contribution from Chris Wood.

The reverse fixture between Burnley and Wolverhampton finished in stalemate as neither side managed to break the deadlock. However, it will be a must-win game for Burnley. A victory in this game will place them in the safety spot. While Everton are likely to lose in the Merseyside derby.
