Manchester United

Manchester United were thrashed by Liverpool by 4-0 at Anfield in a crucial Premier League encounter.

Following this victory, Liverpool are now top of the league with 76 points in 32 games. Two points behind Manchester City who will face Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday. On the other hand, Manchester United have now dropped down to the sixth spot with 54 points in 33 games.

Manchester United player ratings against Liverpool:

David De Gea – 6/10

The Spaniard could not do anything better on all four goals. He is the only player who has had a good campaign this term.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 5/10

Started on the right wing-back, however, he doesn’t have the qualities to produce going forward. So, it wasn’t the right decision to pick him.

Victor Lindelof – 4/10

The Swedish struggle to cope with the opposition’s attacking threats. And he looked out of ideas for this game.

Phil Jones – 4/10

It was surprising to see him in the starting line-up. And he didn’t have much of a positive impact. In the end, he was taken off at the interval.

Harry Maguire – 2/10

Was at fault for three of the goals. Failed to close down Mane in the first goal and failed to mark the Senegalese in the second goal. Played a horrible pass which led to the fourth goal.

Diogo Dalot – 4/10

Struggled to contain Mohamed Salah and overall a poor display from the Portuguese.

Nemanja Matic – 5/10

The Serbian was all alone in the midfield. And he failed to take control of the midfield.

Paul Pogba – N/A

Was substituted early in the first half.

Bruno Fernandes – 3/10

The Portuguese is continuing to struggle this season. And it was yet another disappointing display from him.

Anthony Elanga – 5/10

The youngster tried to help his side in defence but it was not enough. And his attacking output wasn’t good enough in this game.

Marcus Rashford – 3/10

He had two great opportunities to score, but once his touch let him down and on the other occasion his attempt wasn’t good enough. It was given as offside but the replay showed he was clearly onside.

Substitutes:

Jesse Lingard – 5/10

He ran around the pitch and worked hard but it was not enough to stop Liverpool.

Jadon Sancho – 5/10

The Englishman had several opportunities in a one-on-one against Trent Alexander-Arnold. But, he failed to produce the final pass.

Hannibal Mejbri – 6/10
