Tyreik Wright leaves Aston Villa on loan

About Football Express UK

Tyreik Wright becomes the fifth transfer for Aston Villa as he leaves for Colchester United on loan in this transfer window. Meanwhile, the 20-year-old has joined Colchester United on loan until the end of the season as per BirminghamLive.

Aston Villa has already loaned out several youngsters away from the club in this transfer window. Kaine Kesler, Arjan Raikhy, Louie Barry, Jaden Philiogene-Bidace, Cameron Archer, Caleb Chukwuemeka and Aaron Ramsey along with Tyreik Wright has been loaned out for the rest of the season.

The 20-year-old started his youth career at Lakewood Athletic. Later, he made a move to Aston Villa where he eventually earned his senior cap.

Tyreik Wright spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Salford City. He made 18 appearances for the English side scoring 1 goal. He has managed to score that one goal this season against Newport County. The goal came in a 3-0 win over Newport County in August for Salford.

He returned to Bodymoor Heath earlier this month at the end of his first League Two loan switch. However, he will now return to the fourth-tier to complete the season on loan at Colchester United.

Wright joins The U’s side in this January transfer window. Colchester United are currently 21st in League Two and fighting to survive the relegation battle. The League Two side has 27 points from 27 matches played and has only managed to win once in their last 5 matches.

Meanwhile, he has also earned caps for the Republic of Ireland’s U21 side. He has nine appearances to his name including one goal for his country. He scored the only goal against Bosnia last year.

Verdict of Tyreik Wright loan move

The loan move seems to be beneficial for both parties. Aston Villa already has the likes of big names like Emiliano Buendia, Philippe Coutinho and Jaden Philogene-Bidace in the first team. As a result, it would be difficult for the young winger to get a chance in the first team.

On the other hand, Aston Villa would also look forward to boosting the squad further. Meanwhile, with the experience from the loan move, Wright may find a way back into the first-team squad with his return in the summer.
