Newcastle to prepare bid for Goncalo Ramos
Many Portuguese outlets have claimed that Newcastle are preparing a bid for Ramos in the region of £25m. Interestingly, the Portuguese club is open to his sale despite his top-notch performances for the club this season.
Moreover, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the interest in the player and the potential move to Newcastle. He took to Twitter to drop the information of the move as he tweeted-
Newcastle are preparing a proposal for Gonçalo Ramos as new top target. Discussions are ongoing on the player side and talks will continue with Benfica.
Paris Saint-Germain have Ramos in their list since June but there’s still nothing agreed – Newcastle, on it too.
French side PSG are also in the race to sign the Benfica striker, however, nothing concrete has developed yet. Howe and the management are pushing for the move and could be the frontrunners in the coming days.
However, Benfica understands a move could be on the horizon and are open to the idea of the sale for Ramos. Moreover, Ramos could flourish a lot under more considerable management such as that of Newcastle if a move goes through.
