Liverpool have confirmed that Thiago Alcantara is set to remain in the sidelines for atleast six weeks due to hamstring injury.
The Reds are going through sort of a rough patch in terms of player injuries during the start of the season. Jurgen Klopp has one more man down in his squad as midfielder Thiago Alcantara has picked up a hamstring injury.
The midfielder endured the injury during the opening match against Fulham at Craven Cottage during the weekend. Alcantara will be out for atleast six weeks as he will look to recover within this period.
Liverpool midfielder out for six weeks
Liverpool have endured quite a few injuries before the season kicked off with the latest one being Alcantara. Now, as the player is down injured, the gaffer could make another signing in the midfield area this summer.
The Reds have fallen short of players in the midfield and also are down with the quality that is required. The gaffer will need to make signings possible to add depth and quality before the window concludes.
Jurgen Klopp even addressed the issue and dropped hint on a possible lookout for players in the market. He said-
“A transfer must make sense now and in the long-term. We have eight midfielders.
We still have enough midfielders. It’s not that we lack midfielders, it’s just some of them are injured.
This isn’t a good situation; I don’t like it at all. We have to see how we react on that, but for sure not panic.”
There is a high possibility that the Liverpool boss will sign a quality player in the centre of the field. Moreover, fans would want this as it would help the squad in the long term during the season.
