Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin is in talks with the club to terminate his contract with the club and move to Real Betis.
The Gunners are discussing with Bellerin regarding a contract termination as the player believes his time at Emirates is over. The 27-year-old is keen on leading the club this summer and joining Spanish side Real Betis in the transfer window.
The defender has no interest in playing out the final year of his contract with Arsenal and immediately wants an exit. Moreover, the Gunners are open to the idea of selling the player as he has not integrated with the side.
Hector Bellerin will leave Arsenal this summer
With the transfer window up and running, Arsenal have made changes to the squad and now are willing to facilitate exits. It is understood that the Spanish side are ready to get the Arsenal man on a free transfer this summer.
Bellerin has not been able to cement his spot under Arteta at Emirates which is why he wants an exit. Moreover, the defender is more attached to his boyhood club and wishes to continue his career with Betis this season.
The Gunners believe that it would be best to make his exit possible as it helps reduce the wage bill. Arsenal technical director Edu spoke on this issue and said-
“I know it’s strange to go to the board and tell them, ‘Sometimes it’s better to pay a player to leave than to keep them’.
“I realise that hurts and some people say that it’s expensive — but you have to take the problem out.”
The defender is mostly on his way out of the club and close to joining Real Betis this summer. Arsenal will help facilitate the exit and allow the player to leave the Emirates in the transfer window.
