Chelsea are exploring the possibility of signing Inter Milan midfielder Cesare Casadei in the transfer window this summer.
The Blues may not have the most ideal transfer window yet but they have picked up quite a few high-profile signings. Now, Chelsea are linked with a move for Cesare Casadei who is preparing his exit from the Seria A outfit.
OGC Nice are one of the other clubs interested to land the player to their side this summer. However, Casadei would only prefer a move to the English top flight if Chelsea come up with a suitable offer.
Chelsea could bid for Cesare Casadei
Chelsea are well equipped in the centre of the pitch as compared with the defensive back line this season. Surely, it would be a wise move if the manager Thomas Tuchel signs another defender before the window concludes.
However, the links between the Inter midfielder and Chelsea have made the gaffer clear the air over a potential move. He said-
“We will not panic and we will not sign players we are not 100% convinced about. We might be content to have an extra central defender in the squad but it depends on what is possible.
“You don’t always get what you want. We are calm and ambitious at the same time, there are still days left until the end of the session.”
Considering the statements made by the gaffer, it appears as though he may not be content with Casadei’s move. Moreover, he did harp on the need for a central defender and it does make sense as a whole.
The exits of Rudiger and Christensen surely would make the Chelsea boss wonder if there is a need for an extra defender. It remains to be seen now if the Blues push for the youngster’s move from Inter this summer.
