Manchester City have valued midfielder Bernardo Silva for a fee in the region of £65m if Barcelona wants to make a bid.
Gaffer Pep Guardiola believes the player will leave the club if a fee in the excess of £65m is met. The Blaugrana outfit are pushing for the midfielder’s move to the Camp Nou since the start of the transfer window.
However, due to the dire financial condition, it may be difficult for Barcelona to prepare a bid for Bernardo Silva. That said, the club remains optimistic in their pursuit of the Portuguese international in the transfer window this summer.
Bernardo Silva could leave Manchester City this summer
The 28-year-old has come to terms regarding a potential exit from Manchester City this summer in the window. However, the only roadblock in the move to Barcelona is the financial condition faced by the Blaugrana outfit.
Moreover, Pep Guardiola spoke about Silva’s potential move to the Catalan giants for the new season. He said-
“At the end, for the club, for the players, for the agents, many reasons. Sometimes you have to sell.
For the desire for the players, I need people happy here, we try to do it together. I would love for Bernardo to continue here, a very special player in the locker room.
“But I don’t know what will happen. What happens will happen, if he stays is perfect, if he has to leave it’s because football is like this.
Players have desire and I’m not a person to stop a person desire in life. Football career is so short. I’m a small part of the club, I have to speak to the club, they decide and I say okay.”
Bernardo Silva is open to joining Barcelona this summer and has not denied his interest in the move. Moreover, the project engineered by Xavi at Camp Nou has tempted Silva to join the club.
It remains to be seen if Barcelona are able to push for the move and can facilitate the transfer.
