Premier League newcomers Nottingham Forest are working on a deal to bring in the likes of Tiémoué Bakayoko from Chelsea this summer.
The midfielder was sent on a two-year loan to Italian side AC Milan and is halfway through his contract. However, it appears as though a move back to the English top flight is on the horizon for Bakayoko.
While there is a high possibility of Bakayoko’s comeback to the EPL, he will however not return to ‘the pride of London’. That said, Nottingham are the side most interested to snap up the services of the player this summer.
Tiémoué Bakayoko to join Nottingham Forest
Tiémoué Bakayoko has not been able to cement his spot as a regular since his arrival at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea would not be too keen to want him back this summer and would instead be open for an exit.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News), Nottingham Forest are exploring the possibility of bringing in Bakayoko this summer. Journalist Luca Bianchin took to Twitter to confirm the club’s interest in the midfielder in the transfer window.
He said-
Tiémoué Bakayoko is an option for #NFFC. Bakayoko could end his two-year loan at #Milan to sign with Forest.
Talks ongoing to find an agreement on the player’s wages.
Manager Steve Cooper would surely not mind landing the midfielder to the Nottingham club this season in the transfer window. However, the player’s inconsistency could be an issue in the long term that the gaffer will have to pay heed to.
Bakayoko would be tempted to make his return to the Premier League and would look to secure his position. The midfielder has got a lot to prove on the pitch but has got some taste of the league.
