Real Madrid midfielder aims subtle dig at Premier League

About Football Express UK

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has aimed a dig at the English top flight moments after Casemiro completes the switch to Manchester United.

The Red Devils have made some vital signings towards the end of the transfer window in the summer having signed Casemiro and Antony. United are now on a roll as they won their fourth match in a row against Arsenal on the weekend.

Casemiro made a move from Real Madrid after winning almost every possible title at the club during his stint. However, Toni Kroos aimed to dig at the Premier League just after the move was made from Madrid to Old Trafford.

Real Madrid midfielder makes an interesting comment

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has aimed a subtle dig on his former midfield partner Casemiro over a move. The comments came after the switch was made to the Theatre of Dreams only to not continue with Madrid.

So, speaking in an interview as quoted by MARCA, Kroos said-

“The Premier League has not won an international title this year.

“Television money has been significantly higher in England for years and yet it hasn’t resulted in English teams winning everything. Thank God not all players look only at salary but also at winning.”

After the statements, Casemiro too came out and cleared the air of the move being due to financial reasons. He said-

“Those who think that don’t know me. I’m not like that.

If it was for money, then I could have left four or five years ago. The club always acted well with me.

It was my decision. It was simply the feeling that my cycle here had come to an end.

 This was clear to me.”

In any case, the move has been a very beneficial one for Erik ten Hag and the club this summer. Moreover, United will hope to make a major comeback this season and compete for titles.
