Newcastle United interested in double swoop for Inter Milan Duo

Eddie Howe's concern

Newcastle United is interested in Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries and Hakan Calhanoglu and could make a swoop for the duo this summer.

After the transfers of Charlie McArthur, Matt Targett, and Alex Murphy, the Magpies are looking to sign two more players. This time the club has eyed Serie A side Inter Milan for reinforcements.

As reported by Calciomercatoweb, Denzel Dumfries and Hakan Calhanoglu are the latest prospects of the club who could join next season. Manager Eddie Howe appears in full swing to make the important transfers possible for the club.

Moreover, the prospects from Milan are two very promising talents who can add a lot to St James’ Park. However, as per the report, it would take around €60 million to sign the duo.

The Duo to sign for Newcastle?

The Magpies will hope to pull off this transfer as the two are amongst the hottest prospects of the sport currently.

However, there is apparent interest from PSG, Tottenham, and Chelsea for the duo. With these clubs in the race for the Milan players, it may seem tricky to hijack the deal.

Calhanoglu quickly became a vital member of the Serie A squad after joining from local rivals AC Milan. The player registered seven goals in 34 league appearances and provided 12 assists for the club this season.

Whereas, Dumfries has appeared in over 30 games and amassed five goals and five assists for the club. Surely, with the current stats, they could prove to be a deadly duo at Newcastle.

However, the deal could be stalled by other clubs joining the race to get the signatures of the players. It remains to be seen if Newcastle goes all in for the duo and pays upwards of €55m.

If the deal does go through, Newcastle will have made crucial reinforcements this summer making the side far more competitive than last season.
