As per the report in Football Insider, Manchester City are reportedly planning to make a whopping £90 million bid for Aston Villa talisman Jack Grealish in this summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old has struggled with a shin injury in last season for Dean Smith’s side. He was in the England national squad for the Euro 2020, however, surprisingly the midfielder only managed fringe appearances. The Englishman made only one start in this competition, assisting twice in this process.
Manchester City are looking to splash the cash this summer. Moreover, following the financial fair play rule has been relaxed a bit this summer due to the pandemic. The rich owners of the club are looking to take advantage of that. The Citizens linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane as well.
Buying Jack Grealish will certainly make the reigning Premier League champions even stronger coming into the next season. The Citizens are lacking the UEFA Champions League in their trophy cabinet. Thus, this might be the only goal for Pep Guardiola’s side for next season.
Manchester City ready to make £90 million bid for Grealish:
According to the report in Football Insider, Manchester City are lining up a staggering £90 million bid for Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish. Following the European Championship’s conclusion, the deal might gather pace in the upcoming weeks.
The report further claims that the Citizens are willing to break the British transfer record to sign the 25-year-old Englishman. City have done the groundwork for this deal but the transfer is far from being done. Pep Guardiola’s side are funding the budget for the Englishman who wants Champions League football next season.
Jack Grealish will be looking to develop under Pep Guardiola. And establish himself in the first team of Manchester City as well as in the national squad. Gareth Southgate has shown his reluctance to give opportunities to the players who are outside of the top six clubs in the Premier League.
Grealish and Sancho are some of the best players the England boss had at his disposal but neither of them had much impact in Euro 2020 as they are not the player of the top six clubs. Nevertheless, Grealish will certainly enhance the attacking firepower of Manchester City. If City can pull off the deals of Kane as well that would make them an unbeatable power in world football.
