Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero spoke in an interview and named the top four teams in contention for the Champions League title.

As the Champions League is set to begin, fans and pundits from over the world have passed predictions on potential contenders. Moreover, former Cityzens striker, Sergio Aguero has also given his view on the new season and his potential contenders.

The 2022/23 UEFA Champions League season is just hours away from kick-off with Real Madrid as the title defenders. Pep Guardiola’s men play Spanish giant Sevilla in their first UCL outing this season and will look to start well.

In the away fixtures, Manchester City and Chelsea will play on an opening day against Sevilla and Dinamo Zagreb. Whereas, Tottenham Hotspur and runners-up Liverpool will play on a subsequent day as the former mark comeback in the competition.

Speaking in an interview with Stake as quoted by Metro, the former City striker named his four contenders this season. He said-

‘With Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham already had a great performance in the Champions League,’

‘Now with Antonio Conte, a coach with a lot of experience, they are managing to be a very solid team.

‘Tottenham will be a very difficult rival for any team. They could be a big threat in Europe this year.’

City will have more chances to go as far as possible.

He [Haaland] could help them finally break their Champions League hoodoo.’

‘The team Leo [Messi] is on will always be a candidate,’

‘Barcelona are a great team in Europe,’ Barca will go through to the next round.

It won’t be easy but they will make it.

Undoubtedly, the teams stated by Aguero will give fans a run for their money. As the new season begins, fans of every club will be optimistic and remain in hope of their club to win the League.
