Inter joined the race to sign Manchester United defender Alex Telles

About Football Express UK

As per the report from Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter Milan have joined fellow Italian club AS Roma to sign Manchester United left-back Alex Telles.

The Red Devils bought the Brazilian international last October from FC Porto for £13.5 million. However, since the arrival of the 28-year-old, United’s first-choice left-back Luke Shaw has showcased his best-ever performance for the Old Trafford outfit.

Following the rejuvenation of the England International, Telles has struggled to find a place regularly in the regular first-team. With Luke Shaw being the primary contender at the red half of Manchester. He made 24 appearances in all competitions and assisted twice without finding the back of the net.

The arrival of the 28-year-old has given the proper competition in places for the left-back spot. Selling the Brazilian will not be a great option for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Telles could showcase his talent in his second season at Old Trafford, after settling down with the intensity of the Premier League

Will Manchester United sell Telles this summer?

According to the report from Di Marzio, Inter are preparing to go head-to-head with Roma for the signature of Manchester United defender Alex Telles. The Italian side are in search of a new wing-back following the departure of Achraf Hakimi and Ashley Young. Thus, given the attacking qualities Telles has, it will be a very good addition for Simone Inzaghi’s side.

After struggling to find the first-team action in his debut season, this link might tempt the Brazilian international to return to his former side for regular first-team action. However, from the Red Devils’ perspective, they can not afford to lose the 28-year-old.

United are eyeing big silverware and in order to achieve that they need proper depth in the squad. The departure of Telles will put huge workloads on Shaw’s shoulders who hasn’t had a great injury record in his career so far.

Manchester United should convince Telles to stay and Solskjaer should rotate his squad to keep everyone happy and fresh. The Red Devils are looking to bolster their squad this summer. They already wrapped up the Jadon Sancho deal and linked heavily for Raphael Varane. So, next season could be exciting for the Old Trafford faithful.
