“Here We Go”- Chelsea on cusp of signing Brighton left-back

About Football Express UK

Chelsea are very close to signing Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella as Barcelona and Manchester City back off from placing a bid.

It is understood that Cucurella and the Blues have reached a personal agreement and the deal has been approved by Brighton. Chelsea are in serious need of reinforcement in the defensive cover and have identified Cucurella as their man in defence.

The deal is set to have been agreed for roughly over £50m with all parties reaching full agreement. The club could make it official soon as they finally get hold of another defender after signing Kalidou Koulibaly.

Marc Cucurella to Chelsea

Stamford Bridge will have a new addition in the left-back area with the likes of Marc Cucurella joining this summer. However, the transfer was not as smooth as it may have been to the fans and the club.

The Blues had to initially rival Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to obtain his signature, however, the latter backed off. This helped Thomas Tuchel and the management to further push for the deal to land him at the Bridge.

However, even Barcelona wanted to place a surprise bid for the player in order to hijack the deal from Chelsea. But luck ran out of the Catalan giants’ favour making the Blues as the frontrunners to sign Cucurella.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Roman dropped the update over the potential move to the London-based club for the new season. He took to Twitter and said-

Marc Cucurella to Chelsea, here we go! Full agreement in place between Chelsea and Brighton for more than £50m.

Levi Colwill on the verge of joining Brighton soon. Personal terms already agreed, no way for Man City.

Cucurella will become Chelsea new signing, done.

It is only a matter of time before Chelsea announces the signing officially on their social media and website.
