Fulham submit a bid for Manchester United defender

About Football Express UK

Newly promoted Premier League side Fulham have submitted a bid to land Manchester United defender Eric Bailly this summer for the new season.

With the transfer window still going on, Fulham are looking to make signings possible before the conclusion of the window. The club now looks to land a defender from the transfer market and have submitted a bid for Bailly from United.

Marco Silva is still content with the side and wants to bolster the defence to compete with the rival clubs. Moreover, with Baily put on the market by the Red Devils, the player could consider leaving Old Trafford this summer.

Fulham to sign Eric Bailly

The Cottagers are hoping to land the United defender to the Craven Cottage ahead of the new season this summer. However, Silva’s side faces competition from the likes of Sevilla and Roma who are also keen to obtain his signature.

The Ivory Coast international has slipped down the pecking order since the arrival of new signings at the Theatre of Dreams. The centre-back is one among the many liked by the Fulham gaffer and is rated very high on the list.

The 28-year-old is entering the prime phase of his career and moving to Fulham would be beneficial to all parties. Moving from Old Trafford to Craven Cottage will be a step-down, but it will surely help rekindle his career.

Fulham also identifies the defender as a man who could potentially lead the squad and strengthen the defence next season. Silva has no doubts over the experience that the player holds and believes he could add lots to the club.

Bailly is not too keen on reuniting with former manager Jose Mourinho at Roma for the new season. However, talks are still ongoing and what seems certain is that the player will leave this summer.
