Dani Alves makes an interesting statement about Ronaldo

In an interview with Marca, the Brazilian spoke on various topics regarding the sport and made interesting comments. When asked who the toughest opponent he ever faced during his professional career, Alves said-

“Cristiano Ronaldo”.

“This bastard doesn’t let you breathe for a second. I didn’t do too badly, but it’s difficult.

He’s a scoring machine.”

Alves also picked his former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi as the best in the history of the sport. He further added-

“For me, Pele should not be part of this debate. If you ask me, who is the best player in history? I would say Messi. Pele doesn’t come into it,”

The duopoly Messi and Ronaldo have maintained in the last decade has been the most discussed and relished. Alves heaped praise for both the legends of the sport and it goes without saying – game recognizes game.

Moreover, both the stars are running the final laps of their professional career wanting to win the World Cup. It will be interesting to see if Messi’s Argentina are able to compete for the title considering they are one of the favorites.
