Chelsea star baffled with medical detail provided by the owner

Chelsea star Wesley Fofana was left baffled after owner Todd Boehly wanted the player to fly to USA for medical ahead of the move.

The Blues’ new signing was baffled by the owners as he was told to fly to US for a medical check-up. Chelsea secured the services of the player for a fee of £69.5m deal last month from Leicester City this summer.

Former manager Thomas Tuchel was keen to sign the youngster from the Foxes before the manager’s departure. Whereas now, Fofana will work at Chelsea under the management of Graham Potter for the rest of the season.

Chelsea player left baffled by owner

Fofana made a switch from the King Power Stadium to Stamford Bridge as a part of his new project. The French defender was confused after being told his Chelsea medical would take place in the US by Todd Boehly.

Moreover, after being left baffled by the decision to follow the medicals in the US, Fofana said-

“I thought we’d do it in London.”

Chelsea have endured a dismal start to their Premier League campaign under Tuchel after which the gaffer was sacked. So, Boehly immediately appointed Potter from Brighton to take over the project from the German manager for the rest of the season.

It is understood that Boehly’s relationship with Tuchel had deteriorated after the gaffer refused to sign Cristiano Ronaldo this summer. This internal war between the two and the loss to Dinamo Zagreb in the UCL made the sacking easier.

Moreover, Graham Potter has taken over the new project at the West London club and hopes to bring his own twist. Chelsea fans and the management believe that Potter will be able to bring back the club on track this season.

So, it will be interesting to see which position do the Blues end up in the Premier League this season.
