Team Report: Arsenal boss provides squad injury update

About Football Express UK

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has handed a major injury update to the fans as the squad is now out for the international break.

The Gunners have started off their Premier League campaign to a great start but have lost only to Manchester United. Mikel Arteta’s men have displayed sheer brilliance on the pitch this season riding high on winning points.

However, skipper Martin Odegaard is on the verge of getting forced to withdraw from international duty for Norway. The severity of his injury is still yet to be determined and this has kept the player on the sidelines.

Arsenal manager provides injury update

The Arsenal captain was left out of the squad in the win against Brentford this past weekend in Premier League. Moreover, with his injury, it is still yet to be known the duration for which he will be out.

Odegaard started off for Arsenal in all of their first six matches but eventually endured an injury. The Norwegian international picked up a calf injury in training sessions before the match last week against the Bees.

Moreover, this helped Fabio Vieira to join the squad and get his chance in the first team setup last weekend. Oleksandr Zinchenko is another name on the Gunners side who is out injured and is on the sidelines.

Manager Mikel Arteta gave an insight into the availability of the players. In an interview he said-

They are both injured and not available for the game

I don’t know [how long they will be out for], we have the international break right now so it’s going to give us a break [on that]. They are two different things but we don’t know yet.”

Undoubtedly, the Arsenal camp will miss the two players but will look to continue their momentum and win matches.
