Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa could make a move for Chelsea starlet Conor Gallagher in the transfer window this summer.
Aston Villa are keen to secure the services of the youngster after noticing his impressive loan spell with Crystal Palace. Both Everton and Palace are also in the mix to sign the midfielder but Gerrard’s Villa could be the frontrunners.
Gerrard considers Gallagher as his top priority in the midfield and looks to bring him to Villa Park this summer.
‘Scary’ Duo at Villa Park
The Villa prospect could be a terrific addition to the squad this summer ahead of the next season. Gerrard will be looking forward to creating a formidable duo in Gallagher and John McGinn in the next campaign.
McGinn has displayed sumptuous performances with the club projecting how he could be useful both defensively and in the attack. Racking up one of the highest shot creations and the most successful dribbles, McGinn has proven to be a killer in the attacking sense.
Surely, McGinn will be the go-to player to turn to when there are issues in the attack or in defence. Landing Gallagher could prove to be vital for the squad helping them add more depth in the midfield.
Moreover, a potential duo that could be formed at Villa Park in McGinn and Gallagher could prove to be lethal. The two well-rounded midfielders have a lot to prove but are just getting started under the likes of Steven Gerrard.
In addition to this, the transfer could also prove to be beneficial from a long-term standpoint. Bringing in a youngster with the abilities and grooming him under an experienced manager will help shape the player.
It remains to be seen if Gerrard lands the Chelsea young sensation at Villa Park for the next season.
