Arsenal lost 3-0 to Brighton in their important match. This loss also means that title hopes are almost over for the Gunners.
It also gives Manchester City a big chance to seal their title in their next match. Pep Guardiola’s men face struggling Chelsea in their next match.
ARSENAL LOSE THEIR PLOT AND POTENTIAL TITLE AGAINST BRIGHTON
Arsenal were surprisingly easily defeated to Brighton 3-0 at home. Both the team were evenly matched at 0-0 at half-time. However, Brighton were managing to create more chances than the Gunners. The Seagulls also started the second-half well. They also got rewarded for their brilliant start to the second half. Julio Enciso scored the opening goal for Brighton after missing a few chances in the first-half.
Brighton also managed to keep their defensive line tight after scoring the goal. Hence, the tight defensive line also forced Arsenal to all-out attack for the equaliser. Therefore, Brighton relied on their counter-attacks. Deniz Undav scored the 2nd goal for Brighton. However, the game finally got out of hands as Pervis Estupinan scored the third of the game for the Seagulls.
THE PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE DREAM IS ALMOST OVER FOR THE GUNNERS THIS SEASON
The loss to Brighton also means that the Premier League title hopes are pretty much over for Arsenal. Brighton’s win means that Manchester City need to win their next game against Chelsea to secure the Premier League title this season. This will also potentially mean that the Gunners will again end their season without any trophy under Mikel Arteta.
However, the only positive for Arsenal is they are back in the Champions League next season. Although, Mikel Arteta will feel disappointed with the season. This is because they were eight points clear of Manchester City at one point on the top of the Premier League table. However, after the international break, the Gunners lost their plot and lead on the top.
Arsenal will now look forward to the next season in the Champions League. Whereas, they will also hope that Chelsea somehow manage to put a fight against Manchester City. However, it is unlikely City will lose against struggling Chelsea.
