Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has refused to give up on title fight after getting thrashed against Manchester City. The Gunners conceded 4 goals in the important game.
It also means that Manchester are only 2 points behind the Gunners on second place. They also have two games in hand over the Gunners.
MANCHESTER CITY THRASH THE GUNNERS
Arsenal fans always thought that the game against Manchester City was the title decider. Hence, everybody got excited for the game. Although, the excitement quickly went down after they conceded 2 goals in the first half. However, the thrashing at Etihad did not stop there for the Gunners. They went on concede two more goals in the second half.
Arsenal got a goal from Rob Holding in the 86th minute. However, the goal was just a consolation for the Gunners. Erling Haaland also got a goal in the last minutes of the game. This also means that the Manchester City striker has 49 goals this season in all competition. However, Mikel Arteta is not ready to accept title defeat this season.
ARSENAL MANAGER REFUSES TO GIVE UP ON TITLE FIGHT
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that the team are not going to give up on the title fight this season. The Gunners will have to win all their remaining games of the season to keep the gap on Manchester City. However, Mikel Arteta has also said that Manchester City were a better team and his team did not get the basics right.
The Arsenal manager further said, “It’s very difficult after the way we lost, but we have to stand up, look at the bigger picture, and the fact that we are competing toe to toe with [Man City] is incredible,”. He further said, “We are not going to give up. There are five games to go and, in this league, anything can happen.[Man City] were exceptional and when that’s the case, it’s extremely difficult to reach that level and we were no way near our level. When you open that gap against them, you get punished.
Arsenal fans will hope that the team can win their next match to calm their nerves. Their next match is against struggling Chelsea. At the moment, the Gunners fans will hope that this team defeats the struggling Chelsea group of players.
