Mbappe might head to Chelsea this summer, Chelsea in talks

Former Chelsea player Florent Malouda has urged his old side to smash their transfer record to bring French superstar Kylian Mbappe to Stamford Bridge in the summer

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly hasn’t been afraid to splash the cash since taking over the club last May.

In just two transfer windows, Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have already invested £600million in the playing staff,

including hefty fees on the likes of Raheem Sterling, Mykhailo Mudryk and Enzo Fernandez.

The latter of those additions was in fact a new British transfer record,

as he joined the club in January for £106.8million.

However, former Chelsea player Florent Malouda believes his old club should smash that record

once again with an ambitious move for PSG star Kylian Mbappe

This comes after the French club were knocked out of the Champions League

at the round-of-16 stage for the second season running,

following a 3-0 aggregate defeat to Bayern Munich.

Despite being just 24 years old, Mbappe has won nearly every major honour that’s been available to him,

including five Ligue 1 titles and a World Cup triumph in 2018.

However, Europe’s biggest club competition continues to elude the French superstar,

who is currently second favourite to win the 2023 Ballon d’Or with Sky Bet.

Following the latest Champions League setback,

many pundits have suggested the time is right in Mbappe’s career to test himself elsewhere,

with Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher among those advising him to ditch PSG.

Malouda believes Mbappe could be tempted by a move to west London and the current Chelsea project.

“I’d like to see Chelsea sign Kylian Mbappe, I think we should go for top players like Mbappe,”

Mbappe is a superstar with all the European giants running behind him it’s only a matter of time to see where he goes for his future career.
