Liverpool are planning to strengthen their defensive area. They are aiming for the young Portuguese defender Goncalo Inacio. The 22 year old has a release clause of £52.4 million and is a prime target for the Reds in the upcoming transfer window. Moreover, Liverpool are ready to trigger the release clause of the player. If this transfer happens, Inacio will become the 5th biggest signing in the club’s history. Inacio would be the main target for Liverpool in the January transfer window as the club has shifted his focus away from Andre Trindade. The Brazilian midfielder was linked with Liverpool and his situation is fluctuating most of the time. Furthermore, Fluminense won’t be willing to let Andre leave before the FIFA Club World Cup. Because of this situation, Liverpool are drifting away from Andre’s pursuit as they can’t wait that long waiting for the player.
As per paiselygates, Liverpool are now more focused towards getting their defence sorted out. Jurgen Klopp wants to do anything and everything possible to get the top spot in the league. Furthermore, inconsistent and unorganised defence was the prime reason due to which Liverpool couldn’t get the top 4 spot.
Virgil Van Dijk has got back his best form. However, his partner in defence, Joel Matip may be heading towards the middle East next season. Gomez plays mostly as a backup and the Frenchman Ibrahima Konate is injured. Therefore a centre back is must for the Reds.

The 22 year old Sporting CP defender has made 5 senior appearances for Portugal and hasn’t conceded a goal yet. Furthermore, his experience of playing in the pressure environment of the international duty is only going to help him in the long run, give the fact that he’s still young.
Furthermore ,a young and experienced centre back is what Liverpool need the most at the moment. They are doing everything right in their pursuit of winning the league. It’ll be interesting to see how Goncalo Inacio adds value to Jurgen Klopp’s side if this transfer happens.
