Manchester United’s backup goalkeeper is gaining attention in training ground.

About Football Express UK

Manchester United signed Andre Onana from Inter Milan this season. The Cameroon international made some errors in the pre season matches for the Red Devils. This raised concerns over his transfers. However, he’s come back stronger and hasn’t looked back ever since. Onana is delivering for the team and he’s trying to fill the void left by David De Gea. Moreover, Man United also have a wall in the making. He’s the Turkish international Atlay Bayindir. He is a perfect choice to be Manchester United’s backup goalkeeper. As per the reports, the 25 year old is impressing the coaches in the training ground. Furthermore, he can start for the Red Devils when Onana is out for international duty in the month of January and February. Bayindir arrived for £4.3 million from Fenerbahce. It seems that he’s going to be a bargain for the club.

However, Bayindir has not started a single game for Manchester United till date. Not even in Carabao Cup. Erik Ten Hag hasn’t even given him a half of play in Carabao Cup in place of Onana.

Manchester United’s backup goalkeeper is working towards getting a senior debut for the Red Devils.

As per unitedinfocus, Bayindir has to be given some playing time at England. If it’s not done, then he’s going to have a difficult time getting adapted to high pressure playing situations of the league. That’s why it’s crucial to give the keeper some playing time in order to give him an idea of a real match scenario. Given the fact that Onana will be heading for international duty in January, Bayindir has to be prepared. And that preparation will only be done by playing him in premier league matches where United are close to winning by a good margin.

However, it’s up to the coach that how will he utilise the keeper. In the meanwhile, Bayindir has left for his international duty. He’s has a call up from the Turkish national team for their matches against Germany and Wales. If he plays in these matches, his performance would very much influence Ten Hag’s decision about him.
