Fabrizio Romano on Arsenal transfer targets
On his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Gunner’s top transfer priority is Douglas Luiz. He said,
“The top name, from what I’m hearing on Arsenal’s list is Douglas Luiz. The player was already on the list two years ago. Edu and others at the club really appreciate him, Douglas Luiz is considered the perfect midfielder by people at Arsenal, they would love to sign him and return on Douglas Luiz. Only a crazy, huge, important proposal could be considered in January. If Arsenal want to go for their top target in January, they’ll need to invest a lot of money,”
Strong midfield option for the Gunners
Douglas currently plays for Aston Villa and Brazil National team. The Brazilian has played for Arsenal’s rival Man City in the past. The officials at Emirates believe that the Centre Midfielder will be a perfect match for their midfield. He has scored 5 goals and given one assist in 12 appearances in the Premier League this season. Luiz can also play in the holding midfield position when needed. Hence, providing a good defensive option for Arteta in the middle of the park. Therefore, the Gunners are planning to make a move for Douglas Luiz in January transfer window, and not wait for the summer. Arsenal have not made a official bid yet. However, due to current injuries, they need a good depth in the squad for the remainder of the season.
