The Man United captain, Bruno Fernandes has denied any news linking him to the Saudi Pro League. The player has urged that he is happy at United and doesn’t pay attention to such media stories. According to Rudy Galetti, The Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) had identified United captain Bruno Fernandes as their next target to bring into the Saudi Pro League. But the United skipper has come out and denied any link to a possible move.
The United captain’s comments on rumours
As reported by TVI, Bruno had this to say about the rumours.
“Being coveted is always good, regardless of the League or the club. But my focus is on the national team and Manchester United, I’m happy where I am. In the national team we are going through a very good moment, at Manchester United we didn’t start as we wanted, but I’m not thinking about the long term.
He then added,
“I don’t look much at market rumors, they’re things I never wanted. Until the moment something concrete comes to me, I don’t care what I see. Today it is very easy for market rumors to reach the press. I prefer to be focused on my goals.”
Denying these speculations in front of the media has earned him praise for the fans. Which some ex players from United were reluctant to do. Fans are comparing this situation with Paul Pogba, who often fuelled these speculations in front of the media. Which led to confusion among the fans and even in the dressing room. For a big club like Manchester United, it is important to maintain a public image in the media along with on-field performances.
