Erik ten Hag receives a message from Alvaro Fernandez, two Manchester United rookies clash

On Sunday afternoon, Liverpool crushed Manchester United 7-0 at Anfield, handing the Reds their biggest loss since hiring Erik ten Hag as manager in the summer.

While Jurgen Klopp’s team ran amok at Anfield in the second half, the Reds gave up six goals. Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, and Darwin Nunez all scored two goals for the home team, giving them a three-goal advantage. After coming off the bench in the second half, substitute Roberto Firmino scored the seventh and final goal of the game in the 88th minute.

In Liverpool, where they have only triumphed three times since December 2007, Erik Ten Hag’s team has now gone eight games without a victory. Also, it was the club’s first 7-0 defeat since Boxing Day of 1931, when the opposition defeated the Reds with their biggest-ever competitive victory.

While the Sunday afternoon at Anfield was very upsetting, several of United’s loanees had more successful weekends with their loan side. There were various people in action, including Amad, Shola Shoretire, and Alvaro Fernandez. Other kids also made appearances in their individual matches. How did the club’s loanees do over the weekend?

In Saturday’s 0-0 draw between Preston North End and Watford at Vicarage Road, the left wing-back played the entire 90 minutes. Since joining the Championship team, Fernandez has made 31 appearances across all competitions and contributed four assists to Ryan Lowe’s team.

The young Spaniard has flourished in Deepdale. He is frequently praised by the club’s supporters, despite Preston winning just two of their last nine games.

Amad and Sunderland had a difficult afternoon as the Black Cats were humiliated 5-1 by Stoke City at home. The 20-year-old participated in the entire game on Saturday, but like all of his teammates, he had a disappointing performance.

The United loanee had a disappointing weekend. But this season he has still managed eight goals and three assists for Sunderland. The PFA and EFL Young Player of the Month honours for December went to him as well.

Shoretire started once more for Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, but Ian Evatt’s team drew 0-0 with Morecambe without Shoretire’s help. In the 65th minute, Elias Kachunga came in to take the place of the 19-year-old.

The two Reds cadets faced off against one another at the Peninsula Stadium during a League Two match. The match was between Salford City and Newport County.

Salford won by a score of 3-1, and Galbraith prevailed. Both players entered the contest from the beginning, with Galbraith replacing McNeill after 64 minutes.
