Chelsea injury updates and news: Nkunku, Gallagher, Colwill and more

Chelsea have been struggling with an injury crisis this season. With many players being sidelined for the blues. This includes some first team players and some young players as well. Chelsea face Newcastle on Saturday, with the later being on form this season since the start. With the International break coming to an end, Chelsea hope to turn around their position in the table. Few of the players out injured may be returning for the game against Newcastle.

Players with injury who might return at the weekend for Chelsea

New signing Christopher Nkunku hopes to make his debut after an early injury in the season. Nkunku has been training individually and can feature in the game at the weekend.
Levi Colwill missed the match against Man City with a shoulder injury, but is expected to return after the International break.
Romeo Lavia is yet another player yet to make his debut for the Blues. He has been suffering from an ankle injury, but is expected to be back soon.
Conor Gallagher had a knock during the International break after playing 45 mins for England. England manager Gareth Southgate said,

“He has come with a bit of a knock from the weekend but he walked through the door saying ‘it is a bit sore but I will be fine for Friday’.”

Malo Gusto withdrew from France under-21 duty due to a minor damage to his knee ligament. He is also expected to be available for the Newcastle game.

Players out for a long time

Ben Chilwell was an important player for Pochettino in the left back position at the start of the season. He suffered a hamstring injury during the Carabao Cup match against Brighton and he is not expected to play before December end.
Trevor Chalobah and Carney Chukwuemeka are both out for an unknown period of time. With Carney out with a knee problem and Trevor out with a thigh problem.
Wesley Fofana is sidelined due to a long term knee injury and is a doubt before 2024.
It’s up to Pochettino how he copes up with the injury crisis at Chelsea.
