Arsenal goalkeeper got criticised by football pundits for his performance against Sporting C.P. Hence, the back up keeper for the Gunners did not have the best game.
The pundits have also criticized the performance of Jakub Kiwior. Hence, it is clear that Aaron Ramsdale and Gabriel Magalhaes are important for the rest of the season.
MIKEL ARTETA’S PLAN TO MAKE 6 CHANGES FOR THE EUROPA LEAGUE BACKFIRES A LITTLE
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta made the decision of making 6 changes for the Europa League game against Sporting C.P. However, the plan backfired a little. Arsenal were 2-1 behind at one point. However, at the end they managed to draw the game 2-2. There was also lack of co-ordination between the players. This is also normal as these players have not played much with each other.
A number of players like Fabio Viera and Reiss Nelson that make the impact from bench got the starts. However, they could not make much difference. Hence, the Gunners will still have work cut out for them in the 2nd leg against Sporting. However, the pundits also criticized the performance especially of Matt Turner and Jakub Kiwior.
ARSENAL GOALKEEPER MATT TURNER GETS CRITICIZED FOR HIS PERFORMANCES
Football pundits Brown-Finnis and Martin Keown criticised both of Jakub Kiwior and Matt Turner. They have also said one of the Arsenal players should have done well to prevent Sporting from scoring the equaliser to make it 1-1. However, the pundits are also hoping that this is the only time Turner and Kiwior make such mistakes this season.
Brown-Finnis pundits speaking on both the Arsenal players further said, “He doesn’t command his area,”. “He knows it’s going to be an in-swinger so you’ve got to be a little bit flat to your line. But he’s not set so he’s moving. Therefore, if you’re moving, you can’t make a decision and go for it. “He has to command this. It’s three yards out, he’s got to go and make contact, got to clatter the player. He’s uncontested, that doesn’t help Matt Turner that Kiwior just does nothing, almost shrugs away.
Whereas, Arsenal legend Martin Keown also hopes that both the players do not repeat the same mistake again this season. Gunners manager Mikel Arteta and coaching staff will also work hard on improving the ability of both the players. This is because they need both of them ready for the busy schedule.
