ARSENAL DEFENDER WILLIAM SALIBA CONTINUES TO IMPRESS

Arsenal defender William Saliba had a brilliant game against Sporting C.P. in the Europa League. Hence, it also made it clear, as to why Gunners want him to sign a contract extension. The defender also got a goal to open the scoring. However, the Gunners were held to a 2-2 draw on the away leg. Although, Saliba had a brilliant game and he also helped debutant Jakub Kiwior in his first game.

Jakub Kiwior made his Arsenal debut after signing for them in the January transfer window. However, the defender had a very nervous Gunners debut. He also did not jump to challenge for the header with Goncalo Inacio. Hence, Goncalo scored the equaliser. Therefore, this game will show Jakub Kiwior that he will have to improve his game to succeed with the Gunners.

THE GUNNERS ARE THE FAVOURITES TO PROGRESS TO THE NEXT ROUND

Despite the 2-2 draw, Arsenal are the favourites to progress to the next round. This is also because of their brilliant record at home this season. Another reason is also that Sporting C.P. are going to miss two important players because of the suspension. Club captain Sebastian Coates and midfielder Hidemasa Morita will both miss the match because of suspensions.

Whereas, a number of players are also major doubts because of their injuries. Hence, Arsenal are favourites by a margin to win the match on home turf. The Gunners also have a great squad depth to beat teams like Sporting. Hence, they are also the favourites to win the Europa League. However, Mikel Arteta will tell his squad to focus only on the next game and not the future games.

Hence, the focus of the Arsenal players shift back again on the Premier League title challenge. The current League leaders will face London rivals Fulham in their next match on Sunday. Hence, games are coming thick and fast for the Gunners in the month of March.
