Arsenal are reportedly in positive talks to extend the contract of William Saliba. However, there is no full agreement between both the sides.
Although, the feeling is both the sides are optimistic about the contract extension. William Saliba has also expressed his happiness of playing with the club.
ARSENAL IN POSITIVE TALKS TO EXTEND THE CONTRACT OF THE FRENCH DEFENDER
According to David Ornstein, there is no full agreement on contract extension between Arsenal and William Saliba. However, he has also claimed that positive talks are happening between them. He has also said both the sides are optimistic that they will find an agreement soon. Hence, there is no panic on the club’s side and the player’s side.
David Ornstein speaking on Arsenal defender’s contract extension further said, “On William Saliba, as I understand it, there is no agreement close as things stand, but that could change,”. “He has spoken very positively about wanting to stay with the Gunners. So it will all be about trying to strike a deal between himself, his representatives, and of course Arsenal.”
MIKEL ARTETA IS AIMING TO BUILD THE TEAM FOR THE PRESENT AND FUTURE
The William Saliba positive reports also further confirm that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is hoping to build a team for the present and the future. A report also claims that the Gunners have agreed a deal in principle to extend the contract of Bukayo Saka. Whereas, Gabriel Martinelli has already signed a contract extension with the club.
Hence, it is clear that every Arsenal believes in the Mikel Arteta project. They also know that there is no club better for their development other than the Gunners. They are also have a happy and a positive relationship with the fans. Hence, William Saliba should also sign a new contract. This is because moving to another club will be a big risk for him at the moment in his career.
Arsenal are also in talks to extend the contracts of their senior players. They have already signed Jorginho in the January transfer window. Whereas, Mohamed Elneny has also extended his contract. They are also in talks to extend the contract of Granit Xhaka.
